This article addresses what steps need to be followed when you are replacing an old Flux license key with a new key. You many need to replace your Flux license key if you add a new machine to your key, remove a machine from your key, or if your license expires.
In order to avoid expiration errors, you will want to make sure there are no old versions of your Flux license key on the classpath or inside your flux.jar file. After you remove all old instances of your fluxkey-x-y.txt file (where x-y is the version, like 7-2), you can then embed your new Flux license key.
If you are running Flux 7.0 or higher follow these steps.
1. Place your flux key into your flux installation directory.
2. Run the configure script (.bat or .sh).
3. The configure script embeds your Flux key file into the flux.jar file and rebuilds your flux.war file
If you are running Flux 6.5 or lower follow these steps.
1. Place your flux key into your flux installation directory.
2. Open a console window and run the following command in your flux installation directory:
jar -uvf flux.jar fluxkey-X-X.txt (i.e. jar -uvf flux.jar fluxkey-6-5.txt)
Your new key should be in accessible to Flux. If you are seeing any errors, send them to
